Biography
Samantha Cho is Professor of Piano Pedagogy and Keyboard Literature at San Francisco Conservatory of Music and previously served as Associate Professor of Music at Cabrillo College.
Active as a soloist and chamber musician, she has performed on San Francisco Symphony’s Lunar New Year Concert, Chamber Concert series at Davies Symphony Hall, Chicago’s Live from WFMT and Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert series, Brand Associates Music Series, and Seattle’s Classical KING. Her recitals have been broadcast on National Public Radio, NBC Bay Area, KTSF 26, San Francisco Symphony + and ArteTV in Seoul.
Her 2026–2027 season highlights include performances for Chamber Music at Davies Hall, the SFCM Faculty Artist series, and a solo recital for the Ruthmere Museum Concert series.
A dedicated educator to the younger generation, Samantha is on the piano faculty at SFCM’s Early Childhood Program and maintains a private studio in Fremont, CA. Her students have won top prizes at the San Francisco International Innovative Music Competition, Beethoven International Music Competition, the Beethoven Art of Musical Interpretation Special Award, and Clementi International Music Competition. An advocate for young musicians, she serves as a board member of the East Bay Music Foundation.
Samantha received her Bachelor of Music at Northwestern University, Master of Music at Cleveland Institute of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts at University of Minnesota. Her principal teachers include Robert Turner, Paul Schenly, Kathryn Brown, Sylvia Wang, and Alexander Braginsky.
